Isopods can be shipped via priority mail, 2-day shipping, or overnight. If your temps are below 40F or above 80F, your package will be MARKED FOR PICKUP at your nearest shipping hub (dependent on the carrier you purchased). If you would like a specific hub, please include the address in your order notes! This will ensure that your new kiddos reach you safely with LAG!  Your package can be delivered to door per your request, but this VOIDS ANY LAG. Held packages must be picked up the same day. Photographs of DOAs in held and door delivered packages must be sent one hour after the package has been marked as "Delivered". Please take lots of pictures! Bonus for a video of package opening!

Each count of isopods contains a few extra individuals. These individuals are not covered by the LAG. For example, if you purchase a 10-count of isopods, you will receive 10 + a few more individuals. You are eligible for partial refunds or credit for any death below the guaranteed count (10 in the example), but not for the extras ;)

  • Powder isopods are incredibly prolific and hardy. Porcellionides pruinosus is native to Europe, but due to its hardiness and prolific nature, Porcellionides pruinosus can be found globally today. This species is incredibly hardy and ideal for beginner keepers/low matinence clean up crews. They thrive at a temperature of 65-85F, a relative humidity of 60-80%, and prefer a moisture zone that spans 1/4-1/2 of the enclosure. Despite its hardiness and beginner-friendliness, it is important not to keep Porcellionides pruinosus constantly wet. I would not recommend keeping them in dart frog enclosures or closed terrariums.

  • Porcellionides pruinosus is incredibly hardy and prolific, making them an excellent choice for bioactive clean-up crews across species. Additionally, they come in a plethora of wonderful morphs and have a bold nature and excellent feeding response, making them an incredible display isopod.  Porcellionides pruinosus makes quick work of any organic matter left for you by your reptiles and can easily keep up with predation. I have not found  Porcellionides pruinosus to be incredibly protein-driven and have not had an issue with them munching on my crested gecko eggs.

I would not recommend Porcellionides pruinosus isopods for enclosed terrariums or dart frog/tropical frog enclosures (they do not like the constant moisture).
